The StemJUMP board work hard to organize events, teachers, and finances in order to bring quality workshops and classes to all students. Many are also passionate teachers across a variety of subjects.
Co-Founder
Jessica Fan
Jessica Fan is a passionate and driven freshman at Phillips Exeter Academy. She was a captain of the Beckendorff Science Olympiad team and has earned four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the Science Olympiad Nationals. Outside of science, Jessica thrives in Speech and Debate, having qualified for both the TOC and TFA in 2025. Jessica has a deep love for teaching and enjoys mentoring others, especially when it comes to science and speech & debate. She believes in the power of learning and sharing knowledge. When she’s not competing or mentoring, Jessica enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, and playing tennis with friends.

Carter Feng
Carter Feng is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. He joined BDJH Scioly in 7th grade and has won multiple medals in both build events and study events. In addition to Science Olympiad, Carter is also an accomplished musician. In 2022-2023, Carter ranked second in the TMEA Region 23 for junior high cellists. He also excels at math and got the AMC 8 Honor Roll. In his free time, he likes to play video games and do origami.
Vice President
Mia Han
Mia Han is a sophomore attending Seven Lakes High School. She has competed and won awards at the Texas Math and Science competitions before switching to Science Olympiad. There, she participated at regionals and won a second place and third place medal for the events Fossils, and Dynamic Planet respectively. She enjoys birdwatching, physics, and reading in her spare time.

Justin Zhang
​Justin Zhang is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. He is interested in mathematics and was a captain of the Beckendorff Junior High Science Olympiad Team. He is a 3x AIME qualifier, a USAJMO qualifier, and a perfect scorer on the AMC 8. In Science Olympiad, He has more than 40 medals, including 6 regional, 6 state, and 4 national medals. Some of his other hobbies include playing on a basketball team with friends, and playing the viola.
Secretary
Claire Long
Claire Long is a junior at Seven Lakes High School. She was a captain of the Beckendorff Science Olympiad team in 2023-2024, a member of the Seven Lakes High School national winning team in 2024-2025, and a current Seven Lakes High School Science Olympiad junior captain. Over her Science Olympiad career, she has accumulated over 50 medals on all levels of competition, including 4 national medals. She also currently competes for the Seven Lakes Swim Team at both the Junior Varsity and Varsity level. Outside of school, she enjoys swimming, playing viola, taking care of her plants, and studying biology.

Hannah Xie
Hannah is a current senior at Seven Lakes High School. She served previously as one of Beckendorff Junior High's Science Olympiad Team's captains, leading them to 3rd place nationally, and is a current competitor for Seven Lakes High School Scioly. Hannah has 4+ years of scioly experience with 60+ regional, state, and national level medals. She is also a USABO semifinalist. Hannah is president of the Seven Lakes Biology Olympiad Club, Vice President of National Honor Society, and leads her own club for women in medicine. She is extremely passionate about women's health advocacy and one day hopes to be an OB/GYN. In her free time, Hannah loves to read books, listen to music, and binge tv shows.
Chemistry Director
Karen Wang
Karen Wang is a junior at Seven Lakes High School. She was a captain of the Beckendorff Scioly Team and is currently on the Seven Lakes High School Scioly Team. In her 3 years of competing in Science Olympiad, she has received over 60 medals, including 2 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze national medals, and was a part of the Division C 2025 national champion team. As a member of the National Math Honor Society, she occasionally enjoys doing math, and made the AMC8 honor roll in her 7th and 8th grade years. She is also her school’s National Honor Society junior secretary and a junior lieutenant on her dance team. Outside of school, she enjoys crocheting and playing tennis with friends.
Engineering Director
Surya Kiran
Surya Kiran is a senior at Seven Lakes High School. He is an AIME qualifier, an AMC 12A Honor Roll recipient, and a three-year member of the Seven Lakes High School Science Olympiad team. Including his two years on the Seven Lakes Junior High team, he has accumulated over 40 medals across his five years in Science Olympiad. Surya also participated in the University of Florida’s 2026 Student Science Training Program, where he earned the Best Paper award for his research on plasmonic gold nanoparticles. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, as well as listening to music.
Earth Science Director
Michael Xia
Michael Xia is a current sophomore at Seven Lakes High School and was a part of the Seven Lakes High School Science Bowl team and a captain of the 2024-2025 Beckendorff Science Olympiad team, collecting over 40 medals during his three years as a part of that team, including a gold and several other medals at nationals. Additionally, Michael also has a passion for music, playing as the sole pianist for the Seven Lakes Sinfonia Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys photography, playing tennis, and hanging out with friends.
Marketing Director
Kevin Chen
Kevin Chen is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. He was a part of the 2023-2024 Beckendorff Science Olympiad Team, competing at nationals and placing 5th in Agricultural Sciences. Besides nationals, he has placed highly in many invitational and regional level tournaments as well. Kevin also plays viola for the Seven Lakes Symphony Strings, is a three-time all-region musician, and is part of the SLORK officer team as communications co-chair. In his free time, Kevin likes listening to music, taking photos, and playing tennis with his friends.
